A workmate wants to get a condensing microphone for her blokie for Christmas and wants to pay about £70 or less. Can she a get a good one for this, and if so, where from?

Behringer are the best for decent studio equipment at reasonable prices. I've got their B1 condenser mic, and I think it cost me £99 about 12 months ago.

The Samson ones are spoken of very highly. The CO1 weighs in at just £39.99 and the CO3 at £59.99 from Digital Village:

I've not tried them myself, but trust Sound On Sound's reviews above all others.
