I just got one of those lovely cards through the door that says, 'sorry, we weren't able to deliver this item on 15/10/04 (Oh look - today, when I have not left the house!), because a signature is required.'

WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOCKED ON THE DOOR AND FUCKING WELL ASKED FOR ONE.

Cunts.

Bet it's the Poppies tickets as well.

Half the time they apparently don't even bring the parcels with them, just the cards.

Most cunning (from their point of view) if you're being delivered big parcels, but somewhat shoddy when the "parcel" in question is in fact a small ticket-laden envelope. Hmm.

(I love Parcelforce recently, not only will they leave packages with neighbours without being begged in triplicate, they even once dropped a non-delicate parcel through the bars of a window I'd left open.)

Seems like this has become a common wheeze for posties. I mean, I understand that the mail business is becoming a particularly difficult sector in which to work, but they're winning themselves no friends by being negligent and downright dishonest bastards.

They're just being lazy - they can't be bothered to carry the parcels. Be sure to complain else that particular postie will continue to leave his parcels behind, thus sowing the seeds of rage.

Apparently what happens, having complained at lenght, is that they go back and fill in the tickets, so said ticket means they tried to deliver a parcel YESTERDAY.

When, erm, you were in. And so was I.

I think I'd rather that than some of the things they do though. Same happened to me last week, and I was annoyed at the time cos I'd been in, but it was better than when I thought a PS2 game had got lost in the post, and in fact they'd left it under the doormat and we'd been treading on it for 2 weeks without realising; or the time a parcel wrapped in brown paper was thrown over the back gate, in the rain!!
