It's good to see that my pedagogic/communication skills are still working ...
... especially as I have a job interview on Friday for the position of Trainer for a recognised manufacturer of software that enables their clients to be EU standards compliant with regard to their Financial and email data
I probably won't get the job ... but it's nice that:
A) even though the agency didn't want to put my CV forward in the first place, I managed to talk them round
B) The company called me the very next day to arrange a telephone interview
C) They've invited me to an interview on Friday
D) I have to do a presentation on an aspect of (Windows) administration of my choice ... and I've chosen digital cryptography ... in lieu of a straight-forward "So, how technnical are you?" Q&A session
E) The company think it's a good topic
F) I'm getting an interview at last
G) It's not badly paid ... beginning to approach something like the lower end of what I'm actually worth in the right role
H) If I get it, I'll be doing training in the UK, France and Germany ... the latter for at least two to three days a month
I) If I get the job, I'll be responsible, amongst other things, for working out the training strategy and logistics for France and Germany
J) I get to do teaching/training again, at long last
K) The company would prefer it if I dressed smart-casual rather than in a suit
L) I'm really rather enjoying preparing the presentation ... getting my teeth into all kinds of aspects of both the subject material and presentation/training skills and delivery
M) I managed to make a list of points that are good about the situation that covered half the alphabet
it's not like I haven't said it before (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lazrus_armagedn/104021.html)
And besides, I've been very clear about the whole countryside-issue (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lazrus_armagedn/132043.html), so you can't really expect me not to live up to my duty to educate people, now can you?
