Problem solved
Nov. 20th, 2003 05:05 pmThanks to
lazrus_armagedn with the ultimately helpful 'press F11' option, causing the menus to appear on the same level as the address bar, which is odd.
Still no idea what caused in in the first place, since going to full screen mode now does not have the same effect.

Hmmm ... that shouldn't be ... F11 should toggle you between the two states ... The two different states should be identical each time you change to them, though
*There are certain things you can do with ASP that not many people know about ... and it's just as well, cos with some/i> of 'em I can actually read/write your hard-drive ... even make a couple of not insignificant registry changes ... and if more people knew about it, the dangers of web-browsing would be significantly higher
Re: Still no idea what caused in in the first place
Date: 2003-11-21 12:00 am (UTC)Judging by what happened when I went to full screen mode and back, the menus were actually next to the address bar (off the screen) all along. Although since my toolbars are locked, I can't have done this by accident.
Re: Still no idea what caused in in the first place
Date: 2003-11-21 12:12 am (UTC)When I toggle back to my default view, I see ... well ... my default view - title-bar, menus, standard buttons, URL address box and status-bar at the bottom
Dunnno, if this helps ... but I am now extremely tired (up 24 hours and full of whisky) and need to go to bed ... so I suggest you play around with your default view first ( view-menu / toolbars / customise ... and then the two drop-down dialogues text options and icon options) ... and then use F11 to toggle between the two and see what the differences are
Let me know, if you have any difficulty or experience any further weirdness
